OUR THOUGHTS ABOUT MIGRATION

Almost every day, while cycling to school, I come across people on the run.

It is inhuman to see such a large gap between those people and us, while we all want the same thing. Love, safety, family, a peaceful life to grow up in...

I find it very disturbing when I see and hear how things are in the camps and at the borders. It is inhuman! If these people and we ourselves cannot count on our own police and government, it is more than clear that we have a problem. And this is not new, it has been around for years and unfortunately it is only getting bigger and bigger...

My respect is so great when I hear from where these people continue to draw hope every day. More of us should get the strength to take action from this courage!

people don't flee to get into trouble here or because they think it's better here. No, they would have preferred to grow up in their motherland with all their family, but unfortunately that is not the reality...they come here because they had no choice. Mothers flee with children, families fall apart, and children are left alone. And that is what people forget!

ìThoughts about immigration I think that to many people find refugees ‘the bad guys’ and that they just fled their country to ‘steal’ our money. Some people don’t realise that they risked their life and that a lot of the refugees still don’t have money, a house, or a job after years of being here. Some refugees without a house have to sleep on the street or in a park. Often, they are sent away to a different place and their personal belongings get taking on some occasions. I think that it’s not human to treat another human like this.

Don’t we all deserve to be happy, don’t we all deserve to live in a proper house and have enough food? Don’t we deserve to not have to worry about those things? If you were forced to leave your country, to leave everything and everyone behind, to leave all you’ve worked for for so long, wouldn’t you at least like to have a house, to have enough food? To have people care about you? People who only received coldness for so many years deserve some warmth from us.

It is absurd that refugees are treated badly. For what? Because they want to flee their country because there is war, they are being chased, they have no future there, they have drastic climate problems? Is that a reason to exclude them? Wouldn't many of us do exactly the same? Yet they are treated inhumanely.
But who is it that treats them the worst, who normally protects people? The police, 'everybody's friend'. So why does this 'protection' stops at the border of Europe? It seems like they are playing a role, good people to the citizens of Europe, turning their backs and playing the shadow game.

How dare they beat them up?
How dare they humiliate them?
How dare they take away their property, the only thing they usely have left?
How dare they chase them away?
How dare they put them back across the border after finally getting here?
How dare they dehumanise them?

How can they live with the thought of some people dying because of them?

I am walking. I am ok. I ate and I feel safe. Like always. I see you, we pass one another in the street. A police car passes us. You hide behind a car. I look in your eyes and you are scared. I don't know what it means to be scared. The police car goes away and you smile at me, and I smile back. I realize how priveleged I am. I can go home and feel safe, with my family. I may have dreams and they seem so normal. Do you have dreams? Can I share mine, I have enough for the both of us. I dream you are safe, with your family, not hungry and not scared. I dream for you, take them with you.

In my opinion I think that everyone deserves a chance to be happy and should be able to have a safe place where those desires can be fullfilled.

In my perspective, immigrants are people who came from a traumatic, horrible place. Who are ready to leave everything behind, literally and mentally. A huge respect to them!

What I love about the earth? It's a place created by everyone, for everyone.  And yet, we manage to mark out our own domain, a safe place from all that is unknown. A place where "intruders" are not wanted.  Wouldn't it be nice, if we all opened the door to that unknown? Maybe then 'an intruder' with a passion for music, nature or sport will walk in. An "intruder" who looks different, yet is so much the same as me. How beautiful would it be if we could then learn from each other, support each other and love each other.
